25. High honors (Kipper card meanings)

25. High honors (Original Kipper Wahrsagekarten, Königsfurt-Urania, 2005)

Literally translated as “to come to high honor”, it is one of the most auspicious cards in the Kipper deck. It foretells that you are to be found on your way up, both socially and professionally or that you have “arrived”, made your grand entrance into high society and accepted by them as one of their own. The public opinion is in your favour and your road to fame and fortune is secured. This card is almost always business related but the kind of employment in question always has an element that requires knowledge and skill instead of brute force.

High honors stands for recognition, promotion, graduation and any type of advancement on your road towards education and bettering yourself. It is your certificate, your diploma, your degree, your PhD – passing an exam, receiving a medal for your endeavours, a trophy for your success in your area of expertise etc. If describing a person, it points to a respectable occupation, that of a scholar, professor or religious authority. When positioned under the main significator it can hint at a superficial need for recognition for the sheer sake of vanity, very much in sync with its governing zodiac sign – Leo. High honors places the timing of an event into autumn, the season of harvest.
