9. Change (Kipper card meanings)

9. Change (Original Kipper Wahrsagekarten, Königsfurt-Urania, 2005)

While not a person card, Change is one of those that still put strong emphasis on directionality. The carriage depicted is moving left to right which effectively means that what is to its left is likely to change and transform into what is to the right. This card signals transformation both on the spiritual as well as physical plane, again largely depending on the context set at the beginning of the session. It can stand for change of job, relocation of the company, change of heart, change of partner, a turn for the better (or for the worse), moving house, leaving something behind – something that used to mean a lot to us but doesn’t anymore. It can even be related to the weather and its ever changing nature, the cycle of the seasons etc.

When describing another card, it carries with it the notions of flexibility, agility, adaptability but also restlessness and of being fickle. Its timing is usually limited to six or seven weeks into the future.
